On this particular page you will see me research and draft a mock up school magazine which I will use for guidance in relation to the initial main task of the Music magazine. This page will consist of various different examples from my own work and justification behind the decisions that have been made.

With regards to
audience theory; I will be utilising this in order to create a school magazine
front cover that appeals to personal
relationships, diversion, esteem and self-actualisation. The values which I
have just stated will definitely be used within my magazine as my target
audience for my preliminary task will be school students who would feel that
society necessitates that they uplift their self-esteem in order to achieve the

I created a survey on ‘Survey Monkey’ and handed it out to 30 individuals who answered the questions accordingly. This survey was created in relation to my preliminary task of my ‘school magazine’ as I wanted to understand my target audience, hence why this survey was handed out to students. Once the results were obtained via survey monkey I recorded and analysed the results on a PowerPoint file and then transferred this over to slide share so that I could present it on my blog. To acquire a greater insight into creating a magazine; in lesson we were taught about the needs of the user and the reasoning behind why they read them. I will look to apply these theories when creating my magazine. [04//01/2016]

Situated below is my final mock up cover. I have decided to make my mock up cover as my final school magazine cover as I was happy with the outcome and feel that I have been able to meet the needs of my user. The use of the bar-code gives off that sense of realism to the audience as they will feel as if it’s a real magazine. I utilised the colour light blue throughout as It represents stability which can then be reinforced to signify the values of the school. However, when I come to create my music magazine I will be using a professional programme the style of my work will be much higher. On the whole I believe it is not bad but there is a lot more which could be done in order to improve. [05/01/2016]
All the work which has been compiled here has been an evaluation of everything which I have done. I decided to include the most important aspects of my planning process which assisted me in creating my magazine cover and contents page.
